Photo Clam Ball heads have an industry standard 3/8" female thread on the base, for mounting to almost all tripods, including the most well known brands such as Manfrotto, Gitzo, Velbon, Slik and more.
For mounting your camera or lens to the ball head, you will need a double dovetail (also known as Arca-Swiss) type of quick release plate.
There are two options for plates:
